Terra

Our bedroom has been in limbo for a couple years. It's still missing...something. Besides window casings and nonugly curtains, that is. We can't really keep pretty things around because the cat knocks things off of things for sport, especially at 1:36 in the morning when she wants food. I'm not kidding. She has torn us from a cozy slumber at least once a night for the past 7 1/2 years. So I thought--terrarium! Pretty and green, but big and heavy enough that the cat (hopefully!) can't destroy it.



My in-laws gave me a pretty jar and a gift card to the local plant store so I could make my own. Here it is in its dirty glory! I didn't realize so much of the jar would consist of rocks and dirt, so it's not quite what I planned, but I like it just the same. I know nothing about plants--I chose these on the basis of "aww, this is so cute!"--so let's see if they survive.
