Teeny Pie!

My sister-in-law Kristen got me a mini pie maker for Christmas and I made my first-ever teeny cherry pies. They're OMG cute. The pie maker worked really well and cooked the pies in only 8 minutes! I never make big pies because 1) they always look ugly and 2) we can't eat a whole pie, so this machine is perfect.

It does take about as long to prepare as a regular big pie, though. Pit the cherries, cook the cherries, make the dough, roll the dough, cut the dough. The crust turned out great. I didn't like the recipe for the cherry filling very much--way too much cornstarch. I even checked the recipe 4 times when I was preparing it to make sure I had the measurements right. Next time I'll use half as much.

Oh, sweet little pies.
