The Pillow Tree

The bedroom continues to come together little by little. Remember this? I never hung it up because it was too cutesy. But I loved the tree part and didn't want to waste it, so I cut the tree out, fused it to the green fabric, reframed it with a mat, and hung it up. But it still didn't work. We need something big on that particular piece of wall. That's my next mission.

I turned the tree piece into a pillow! It's just what I wanted!

Once January hits, I'm always ready for spring and freshness and green, even though winter hasn't really even begun here and the ground will be frozen until April. I'm thinking about gardens. Our big project this year is to do some landscaping in our backyard now that we have a fence instead of atrocious hedges. Should I make an herb garden? What should I grow? Should I be realistic and admit that I have very little time to take care of a garden and am always sick of my plants by July even though I start out full of enthusiasm? Do grape vines climb little trellises that I can put on the patio? Can grapes grow in Illinois?

My little pillow of green has me thinking. :)
